The Brief

So you think you're the best in Inchcape Volkswagen west?
Well…here’s your chance to prove it! Welcome to DubMasters2008, a performance related road vehicle event aimed at finding the Inchcape Volkswagen West team who can build the best all round Volkswagen for 2008. This event will use our money and facilities, along with your time and skills to transform a tired and well used Volkswagen into something worthy of an enthusiast’s magazine.

So what does it involve?
It’s simple…for a team to gain entry into this competition they will need to complete the entry form attached and return it by Friday 28th September 2007. Once this has been done, each team (maximum of 2 per dealership) will be given £1500 to purchase and renovate a used Volkswagen of their choice…so get ready to ‘Vamp Up Your VDub!’ We’re giving you six months to work your magic, and you will then be invited to bring your ‘labour of love’ to a racetrack venue in the UK (TBC) where you will spend a day competing against your peers from around Inchcape Volkswagen West. The team whose car has gained the most points scored in the five challenges will be crowned ‘DubMasters2008’.

So what’s in it for you?
If being crowned ‘DubMasters2008’ and beating all your peers isn’t enough, you’ll also win a fantastic Motorsport/Track Day outing for your team and you will be helping to raise funds for a local charity of your choice because at the end of the competition ALL vehicles will be SOLD at auction and monies raised over and above the £1500 invested in each vehicle will be donated to that charity.

Okay, so what are the rules?

They couldn’t be simpler…Fill in the entry form, your elected Treasurer will collect the £1500 and you then have six months to buy and ‘Vamp up your VDub!’ However, it must be a Volkswagen, it must have its original engine and it must pass an MOT before you can compete (done INDEPENDENTLY!). On the day of the event your Treasurer must bring a breakdown of how your team has spent the £1500, and YES we will want to see receipts. If you’ve been smart enough to have any parts or services donated we’ll also want to see a letter from the supplier/s confirming this. Oh, and to qualify for the final event, you must provide updates on your team’s progress each and every month. The competition itself starts early September and will conclude early March 2008 giving everyone plenty of time to transform their Volkswagen into a true winner.
