Rules
Rules- The DubMasters2008 event is aimed at road going Volkswagens for the Overall Champion Award, is only open to road legal, taxed and tested Volkswagen road vehicles, and all relevant documents will be checked prior to the event.
- A maximum of two teams per dealership only are allowed to take part in the event.
- All work carried out on the participating vehicles is to be done during the Technicians’ own time and outside of working hours. However work can be carried out in the workshop with the Brand Manager’s permission.
- Each team must ensure their vehicle retains the original engine and chassis from the date when it was first registered.
- Prior to the event each team will be required to disclose receipts etc of monies spent on the transformation of their Volkswagen to ensure they have spent no more than a total of £1500.
- Any goods or service that has been supplied FOC or as a goodwill gesture to aid a team in the transformation of their Volkswagen is acceptable, as long as that team can provide a letter stating such to support this from the source.
- Competitors must present their V5 log book, current road tax (six months tax provided and funded by your retailer) and valid MOT for their vehicle on the day. All ‘Drivers’ must present their driving licence on the day and each team will be required to provide a different driver for each category (where applicable). Our decision will be final in all cases.
- All vehicles at the event must pass a ‘Scrutineer’s Inspection’ and the drivers must attend the ‘Driver Safety Briefing’ prior to the event or they will not be allowed to take part.
- Crash helmets are required to compete in this event. Seat belts or harnesses (if fitted) must be worn and arms/legs must be covered up at all times while driving.
- All competitors must abide by and act and drive in accordance with any safety briefing/instructions and must observe the safety rules set out in the Schedule below.
- During events you will be driven and be driving motor cars on a racing circuit, which is or in conditions which are inherently dangerous and you voluntarily accept the risk of death, injury or loss and damage to your person or to your property caused arising out of or in connection with your driving of any evaluation vehicle(s) or other motor vehicles whether undergoing instruction or otherwise.
- Except where any Company employee has been negligent you will not hold us or any associated company or the manufacturers of any vehicle liable, for death and/or personal injury or any other damage whatsoever you may suffer, including damage to any vehicle(s) and/or indirect and/or consequential damage.
- Any driver or vehicle not complying with the rules may be excluded from the event on the day. We have the right, in our absolute discretion to remove any competitor or disqualify any vehicle from the competition without being required to give reasons for such exclusion.
- Drivers must be in good health and not suffer from any illness or other ailment or disability (including but not limited to epilepsy).
- Driver’s eyesight must be at least to the standard required by law for driving.
- When driving drivers must wear a seat belt properly fastened and must not disengage any active safety features of any evaluation vehicle at any time other than those provided with switches for this purpose.Drivers agree to follow the indicated courses and will obey all instructions and signals from marshals and staff whilst driving and all speed limits and regulations applying thereto during any event.Drivers (and any passengers if permitted) must not drive having consumed alcohol or having taken Class A; B and C drugs, or otherwise taking prescribed medication (that might make it unsafe for them to drive or is otherwise likely to impair or affect his/her ability to participate and drive at an event) either before and during the event.
- And finally, each team taking part in the event will be required on a monthly basis to supply updates and photographs of their vehicles’ progress by email to enquiries@dubmasters.co.uk. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
